Speaking about the BRT Red Line, Mayor Wahab termed it one of Karachi’s most challenging infrastructure projects.
He said that major obstacles have now been addressed and construction work is progressing at a fast pace, adding that citizens would soon receive encouraging news regarding its completion.
The mayor also highlighted the importance of Shahrah-e-Bhutto, describing it as a vital route not only for Karachi but for the entire country, as it will connect the city’s traffic to national highways.

Earlier this year, in July, Mayor Karachi inspected the process of the Karimabad underpass, and announced that the project will be inaugurated on September 30, adding that if heavy rains occur, the project might get delayed from 7to 10 days.
The Karimabad underpass project, launched by Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Maqbool Baqar in June 2023 under the supervision of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) with the funding of the Government of Sindh, was supposed to be completed in 24 months.
However, the project faces significant delays due to slow funding of the provincial government to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), as reported by Dawn News.
