According to an MQM-P spokesperson, the party will begin wide-ranging consultations with political, religious, and social stakeholders to build consensus on solutions for Karachi’s worsening civic conditions.
The Karachi Bachao Campaign will focus on strengthening local governance systems and ensuring effective implementation of the Karachi Strategic Development Plan 2020 across key urban sectors.

MQM-P said major campaign priorities include elimination of heavy e-challans, closure of open manholes, prevention of dumper-related accidents, crime control, and addressing persistent governance failures.
The party emphasized that Karachi’s deteriorating infrastructure and unsafe roads have made daily life difficult, demanding urgent corrective measures through collective political and administrative efforts.
As part of the campaign, MQM-P plans to engage the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to incorporate business community concerns into a broader urban recovery framework.
Consultations will also include lawyers’ bodies, doctors, engineers, urban planners, and other professional groups to develop a comprehensive and technically sound action plan.
MQM Pakistan stated that meetings with various political parties and civil society organizations will intensify in the coming days to broaden support for the initiative.

The party reiterated that Karachi is the backbone of Pakistan’s national economy, and its stability is directly linked to the country’s overall economic and political stability.
MQM leaders warned that neglect of Karachi has already caused significant damage to trade, employment, and public services, weakening national growth prospects.
The campaign will also highlight issues such as fake domicile issuance and limited employment opportunities for Karachi’s youth, which MQM termed serious injustices.
According to the party, these practices have marginalized local residents and undermined merit-based recruitment in public and private sector institutions.
MQM said it is prepared to talk to every political party and social organization that genuinely cares about Karachi and supports citizens’ rights.
The spokesperson criticized what MQM described as prolonged disinterest and poor urban administration by the provincial government, worsening civic hardships.
They added that mismanagement has disrupted routine life, with residents facing traffic chaos, water shortages, crime, and decaying municipal services.
