The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a blockchain-based attestation system, a significant reform aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring transparency.
HEC officials confirmed that procurement for the system is complete, and the upgraded platform will become fully operational within six months, reducing delays and improving verification accuracy nationwide.

Acting Chairman Nadeem Mahbub directed the technical team to speed up development. He was informed that applicants will no longer submit physical documents or visit offices for verification.
Under the new model, 25 universities using ERP systems will have all student data automatically integrated, allowing graduates immediate access to verified degrees through the online portal.

Students from institutions without ERP will upload degrees and transcripts digitally. These will be forwarded to respective universities, verified online, and then permanently stored on the blockchain.
The fully digital process will eliminate manual stamping, physical paperwork, and in-person visits, ensuring secure, tamper-proof, and instantly accessible degree records for all applicants nationwide.

Government departments, embassies, private employers, and the Foreign Office will be able to authenticate degrees immediately, creating a faster system with improved reliability and complete transparency.
