New crime statistics for the period from 1 November to 30 November 2025 reveal a troubling surge in street crime across the city, particularly involving vehicle theft and mobile snatching.
According to the compiled data released by CPLC, 2,752 cases of two-wheeler theft were recorded, making it the most frequent reported crime during the month.

Additionally, 391 incidents of two-wheeler snatching were reported, indicating the continued vulnerability of motorcyclists across Karachi.
Four-wheeler crimes also remained significant, with 141 cases of car theft and 19 cases of car snatching reported during the same period.
Mobile phone snatching persisted at alarming levels, reaching 1,403 cases, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by Sindh police in controlling street-level robberies and criminals.

The city reported 39 homicide cases, 15 instances of extortion, and one case of kidnapping for ransom. Meanwhile, no bank robberies or dacoities were reported during November, according to the released data.
Last month, the number of extortion cases continued to rise in Karachi, as at least 18 incidents have been reported in October 2025, according to official data from CPLC.
The recent extortion cases have been reported from Karachi’s Shah Latif Town, where a restaurant owner received threats via WhatsApp text message on the 17th of November.

Police officers stated that several businesses received phone calls from foreign numbers demanding large amounts in extortion and threatening severe consequences if the demands were not met.
Officials confirmed that, at the very least, five criminal groups are operating in Karachi, and some of them use internet-based calls to pressure their local targets.
