During the briefing, the DIG Traffic Karachi informed participants that the city is now introducing ground and aerial scanning to stop violations of parking lanes.
He said, “No-parking vehicles will be issued e-tickets through scanners and drones.”
The meeting was told that faceless e-ticketing has received strong public appreciation in Karachi.
Since its launch, over 23,000 citizens have visited facilitation centers, while fewer than 200 people have challenged their E-Challans.

Nearly 90 percent of the issued tickets have been waived due to various reasons, whereas fines worth Rs 25 million have been successfully collected from around 4,000 challans.
Officials added that in the next phase, cameras installed on traffic police vehicles and drones will monitor no-parking zones, and violations will be automatically forwarded to the central TRACS (Traffic Regulation and Citation System) center for ticket issuance.
DIGs from different divisions have already submitted reports on camera installations in their respective districts.
Under the new motor vehicle law, all districts are required to set up facilitation centers where citizens can resolve their ticket-related concerns.

He further added, “After reviewing all preparations, faceless e-ticketing will formally begin in various cities of the province.”
