According to a recent post shared on social media, K-Electric clarified that many cantonment residents have raised concerns after noticing MUCT charges on their electricity bills despite being exempt from municipal taxes.

The company said consumers can reverse these charges by following two clearly defined procedures. These options allow residents to choose whichever method is easier for them based on their available documents.

Consumers were also informed that if they already paid the electricity bill and the month has ended, the reversal is still possible in the next month’s bill without any financial loss to the resident.

K-Electric clarified that this happens because the previously charged amount is transferred to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and later adjustments can be made once the reversal request is approved.
