TikTok has launched multiple updates to help users understand and control AI-generated material across the platform through its new TikTok AI transparency tools.

TikTok says these changes will help people identify AI content clearly and personalise how much of it appears in their feeds.

The company believes artificial intelligence can encourage creativity and improve user experiences when responsibly managed.

A new control for AI-generated content will appear in the “Manage Topics” section. It will allow users to increase or decrease the amount of AI material shown in their For You feed anytime.

TikTok says people who enjoy digital storytelling, educational AI videos or innovative creations can raise their exposure, while those preferring fewer algorithm-created clips can reduce them easily through this upcoming control option.

The platform says this adjustment tool will not limit creativity but will improve personalisation. It will join other features like customizable keyword filters and the “not interested” button used for tailoring viewing preferences.

To strengthen clarity and trust, TikTok is also improving its AI labeling systems. The platform currently uses creator labels, internal detection models and C2PA Content Credentials to identify AI-generated videos users upload or edit.

More than 1.3 billion videos have already been labeled under existing systems. Now TikTok is testing “invisible watermarking,” which adds a hidden digital marker that can be detected only by the company’s internal mechanisms.

These invisible watermarks stay even after reposting or editing, making AI labeling more dependable. TikTok will begin adding them to AI-generated content made with tools like AI Editor Pro and eligible uploaded media.

The company is also launching a global $2 million AI literacy fund that supports nonprofits and specialists producing educational material focused on understanding artificial intelligence developments and recognising AI-generated online content responsibly.

Partners from over a dozen countries will prepare learning resources that encourage media literacy, responsible technology engagement and better awareness of TikTok’s transparency features and tools designed for its worldwide community.
