On the third day of the eighth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Lahore Whites defeated Bahawalpur by five wickets, while Peshawar overwhelmed Multan by 189 runs.

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Lahore Whites were set a target of 136 runs to chase against Bahawalpur.

They began their third day at 58 for 4 and managed to reach the target with one more wicket lost.

Hussain Talat, who had scored a half-century in the first innings, played a responsible knock in the second innings, hitting three fours and a six to finish unbeaten on 49, guiding his team to victory.

Mohammad Umair was the pick of the bowlers for Bahawalpur, taking four wickets.

Hussain Talat was named Player of the Match.

Meanwhile, at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, Multan was set a challenging target of 282 runs.

They started their third day at 2 for 1 but collapsed for just 92 runs.

Imran Butt top-scored with 39 runs, while Sajid Khan delivered a brilliant bowling performance, taking 6 wickets for 39 runs in the second innings.

With his combined performance of 10 wickets in the match, Sajid Khan was awarded Player of the Match.

The ninth and final round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is scheduled to begin on November 23.

Following the conclusion of the league matches, the top two teams will face each other in the final starting November 29.

Currently, Sialkot tops the table with five wins and three draws in eight matches, while Karachi Blues sit second with four victories, two losses, and two draws in eight matches.

Meanwhile, Peshawar and Faisalabad remain in third and fourth place and are still in strong contention for the final.
