The government has simplified registration for its ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ scheme, making it easier for citizens to apply online from the comfort of their own home and benefit from fast, transparent housing support services.
Housing Department reports that its initiative has yielded impressive results: around 30,600 houses have been completed rapidly in just under one year, providing thousands of low-income families with safe, affordable homes.

Under this scheme, 105,700 families were granted loans to construct their own houses under this program, designed with minimal documentation requirements and flexible repayment terms in mind.
The department reported that 69,200 families have now received the second installment of their approved loans, enabling them to continue construction without delays or financial setbacks and haste. This has increased the rate of ongoing housing projects nationwide.
Apni Chhat Apna Ghar is designed to make homeownership accessible for everyday citizens by offering attractive loan repayment discounts, encouraging responsible borrowing practices and prompt payments.

Families that repay their loans within one to three years will enjoy a 20% discount, while those completing payments within four to six years will experience a 10% reduction in payments.
Officials noted that these incentives were intended to encourage early repayment, making more funds available for new applicants and expanding the overall reach of the program.
