The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) officially recognized the International Padel Federation (FIP) and Padel Asia, and confirmed Padel will become an official sport at future editions of the Asian Games.
This landmark decision came following an OCA Executive Board meeting where unanimous approval was given to include Padel as an official Asian Games sport.
This recognition marks a landmark moment in Padel’s development, both regionally and globally. The decision will help further establish it on Asian shores as it gains ground worldwide.

Following successful participation at both European Games 2023 and South American Games 2022 as well as potential inclusion in Mediterranean Games 2026, this approval marks another step on its journey toward Olympic inclusion.
FIP President Luigi Carraro noted that during the inaugural FIP World Cup held in Kuwait last week, he met with Dr. Husain A. H. Z. Al-Musallam of OCA’s Director General & Technical Director, to discuss the ongoing partnership between their organizations as well as Padel’s bright future.

Carraro acknowledged that this milestone is the result of collective effort among federations, athletes, and partners who have contributed to Padel’s development over time. Their shared goal is making Padel a truly global and Olympic sport,” according to Carraro.
FIP remains committed to working diligently across its nearly 100 national federations to expand Padel at all levels – men’s, women’s, youth, amateur and professional – on all five continents. Receiving recognition from OCA brings Padel one step closer towards its Olympic dreams.
