Karachi’s newly implemented E-Challan system aims to increase traffic enforcement and road safety with cutting-edge technology for monitoring violations, while simultaneously addressing vehicles without number plates, which have become a growing concern in the metropolis.

One key aspect of this system is how it tracks violations committed against traffic lights by violators who drive without number plates in Karachi.

Kashif Nadeem, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), stated that vehicles without number plates constitute a serious offense under the new traffic challan system.

He highlighted how number plates are an offense against society, and this system will ensure such vehicles are captured through automatic camera tracking.

“Under the E-Challan system, traffic violations no longer require physical intervention from police officers; instead, cameras and trackers operating 24-7 will detect and record offenses, including vehicles without number plates,” according to DSP Kashif.

He noted that Karachi’s e-challan system effectively eliminates confrontations between drivers and traffic officers while increasing transparency and efficiency of enforcement.

Nadeem advised citizens to install number plates on their vehicles immediately in order to avoid penalties, warning that failing to do so could have more severe repercussions, including filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against those found breaking laws.
