Authorities have arrested five individuals following a shocking attack on the home of Pakistan’s national cricket team fast bowler, Naseem Shah.
The incident took place at Shah’s residence in Mayar, Lower Dir, where gunmen targeted the main gate, windows, and a parked vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene promptly, but the attackers initially managed to flee.

“Unidentified assailants opened fire at the residence of national cricket team fast bowler Naseem Shah,” said a police spokesperson.
“The firing damaged the main gate, windows, and a vehicle at the property. Police reached the scene, and five suspects have been taken into custody. Mayar Police Station has registered a case, and further action is underway to arrest those involved.”

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attack.
Naseem Shah, 22, is one of Pakistan’s most talented young fast bowlers.
Born on February 15, 2003, in Mayar, Lower Dir, Shah rose quickly through the domestic cricket system before making his international debut.
He played his first Test match in November 2019 against Australia and has since featured in Pakistan’s ODI and T20I squads.
Shah became the youngest fast bowler to take a hat-trick in Test cricket, achieving the milestone at 16 years and 279 days in 2020 against Bangladesh.

Renowned for his pace and swing, he has established himself as a key member of Pakistan’s pace attack at a very young age.
“Mayar Police Station has registered a case and further action is underway to arrest those involved,” police confirmed, as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, Naseem Shah is currently part of the Pakistan squad set to face Sri Lanka in the ODI series.
