Commissioner Karachi has announced a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles on the road connecting Malir Halt to Jinnah Avenue, effective from November 11.
“The entry of cargo and heavy vehicles on Jinnah Avenue, the main road, has been banned,” according to notification.

The decision was made following a request from the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and aims to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents on this busy route.
Under the new directive, all cargo and heavy transport vehicles will no longer be allowed to access Jinnah Avenue and the connecting central roads.
A formal notification has been issued to implement the restrictions, which authorities noted are necessary due to the recent increase in accidents caused by heavy traffic congestion.

The ban is a safety measure to protect commuters, pedestrians, and motorists using this road daily.
Alternative routes, including the National Highway and areas around the Sassi Toll Plaza, have been designated for heavy transport vehicles to ensure smooth movement without disrupting city traffic.
Authorities have urged transport companies and drivers to comply with the ban starting November 11 and to use the alternative designated routes.
