Creative Square, Department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi, unlike the usual awareness drives  transforms this year’s World Food Day Festival – turning advocacy into action taking food, hope, and happiness beyond classrooms and conferences to the under-previliged children in Khuda Ki Basti at ‘Green Crescent Trust Hilal School’.

The event, titled “Feeding Smiles, Fueling Minds,” aimed to spread joy, learning, and nourishment among children through fun and interactive food-related activities.

The festival brought together students, educators, and food enthusiasts to celebrate the importance of healthy eating, compassion, and community bonding.

Led by the passionate final-year students of Advertising & Public Relations, under the supervision of Dr. Raana Afzal, Associate Professor, the event blends creativity and compassion, merging storytelling, sustainability, and social responsibility into a day of shared learning and joy.

It’s more than a festival, it’s a movement of minds and hearts where food becomes a bridge to discussions on food security, healthy living, and climate-conscious eating, all while nurturing the smiles of young dreamers.
