At least thirty-five people lost their lives in train-related accidents across Karachi in 2025, according to rescue officials.
The alarming rise in such incidents has raised serious concerns about safety measures on railway tracks in the city.
Data shows that February and July recorded the highest number of fatalities, with five deaths reported in each month.
Meanwhile, March and August saw four casualties each, followed by three deaths in both May and June.

Similarly, two people were killed in April and two more in September, while one death was reported in January.
Rescue officials further revealed that in the first 26 days of October, three more individuals — including a woman — were killed after being struck by trains.
These incidents serve as a reminder of the ongoing risks faced by commuters and pedestrians near railway tracks, and the need for vigilance when crossing train lines.
According to local rescue officials, all the information regarding the fatalities was compiled from reports filed across Karachi this year.
