The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued a warning about fake jobs and visa scam groups targeting individuals seeking job opportunities in the Gulf.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), in its statement, clarified that the job offers officially issued by MoHRE are real.
“Scammers posing as officials of UAE employers or recruitment agencies, demanding advance payments for job processing, visa or entry permits from the job seekers,” the statement reads, adding that no genuine employer or recruitment firm is allowed to request money from job applicants for such services.

“If someone offers you a job in the UAE, make sure it comes through MoHRE,” the ministry stated. It further warned that working under a tourist or visit visa is illegal and could lead to heavy fines and legal action.
The applicants can check the authenticity of the job offer by using the “Application Status Inquiry” feature on the official website of MoHRE.
Once the job offer is signed, the employer is required to issue an electronic work entry permit to ensure the legal entry of the employee in the UAE.

The job seekers are advised to verify the employer details on the “National Economic Register” and visa confirmation at the official portal GDRFA for Dubai and ICP eChannels for other emirates.
Additionally, the UAE authorities also warned the applicant to avoid dealing with middlemen or unofficial agents for securing a work visa.
The authorities encouraged the applicants to arrange the UAE entry permits through authorized and registered travel agencies.
