Two Australian women cricketers, who are in India for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, were allegedly stalked and molested by a motorcycle-borne man in Indore, police said on Saturday.
According to The Indian Express, the players had stepped out of their hotel on Thursday morning and were walking towards a nearby cafe on Khajrana Road when the incident occurred, the police said.
A man riding a two-wheeler began following them and later touched one of the players inappropriately before fleeing the spot.
The cricketers immediately informed their team security officer, Danny Simmons, who contacted local liaison officials and arranged help for the pair.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Himani Mishra later met the players and recorded their statements.
A first information report has been registered. The case has been filed under Section 74 (use of criminal force to outrage a woman’s modesty) and Section 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the MIG police station.
The suspect, identified as Akhil Khan, was arrested soon after a bystander shared the motorcycle’s registration number with authorities.
Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi told PTI that the man “started following the two women during their walk” and then committed the offence before escaping.
