The Government of Pakistan has decided to return Rs 3.45 billion to 66,377 pilgrims who performed Hajj in 2025 under the regular government scheme across six categories.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf announced that each pilgrim will receive refunds ranging from Rs 13,000 to Rs 110,000, depending on their accommodation and service category.

The refund process has already begun and will be completed by October 31, with payments transferred directly to the pilgrims’ bank accounts.

The minister explained that the refunds were made possible after Rs 3.5 billion were saved during Hajj 2025 through efficient management of housing, food, and transportation costs.

He added that the government remains committed to keeping Hajj expenses as low as possible while continuously improving the overall arrangements.

Minister Yousaf also announced the new Hajj 2026 packages, setting the 40-day Hajj package at Rs 1.15 million and the 25-day short package at Rs 1.2 million.

Pilgrims under the government scheme must deposit the second installment of Rs 650,000 through designated banks.

He further stated that next year, pilgrims will receive a travel bag and a Saudi mobile SIM card offering 300 to 600 free calls and internet access. The Hajj training system will also be enhanced for better facilitation.

Responding to a question, Secretary Religious Affairs Dr Atta-ur-Rehman noted that during Hajj 2025, tea was served in Mina and Arafat, and transport facilities were available for all pilgrims.

He stressed that complaints are promptly addressed, but those with serious illnesses, such as cancer, should refrain from performing Hajj for their own safety.
