Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has raised concerns over the process behind appointing the national ODI captain.

Speaking on a Geo Super show, Latif made a bold claim about how decisions are being made in Pakistan cricket.

He said, “We prepared for T20 cricket, but our exam turned out to be for ODIs. A 10-member committee sat to decide the ODI captain, and no one objected. Money is a powerful force — with 5 million rupees, you can make anything happen in Pakistan cricket.”

Latif’s comments have sparked discussions about the selection process for the ODI captaincy. His remarks raise questions among fans and former players about how leadership decisions are made within the team.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi has been appointed as the new ODI captain. The 25-year-old pacer will lead Pakistan in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa.
