The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has invited bids from qualified consultants for the construction of a new Sukkur Airport.
Pakistan Sukkur Airport project reflects the country’s commitment to modernizing its aviation infrastructure and enhancing access to underserved regions.
This development follows the federal government’s approval of three new airport projects in Sukkur, Mirpur (Azad Kashmir), and Dera Ismail Khan.
The initiative aims to boost domestic air travel, facilitate regional trade, and accommodate rising passenger demand in less-developed parts of Pakistan.
According to the official PAA announcement, consulting firms with expertise in airport design, master planning, and feasibility studies are encouraged to submit bids.

The deadline for applications has been set for October 22, with a strong preference for firms that have demonstrated prior experience in large-scale airport development projects.
A senior Planning and Development Directorate official stated that the project represents “a vital step in strengthening Pakistan’s aviation network and ensuring improved air access to remote regions of Sindh.”
The Sukkur project aligns with national efforts to decentralize air traffic and foster economic inclusion.
The proposed Sukkur Airport is strategically designed to ease the passenger load currently handled by Karachi and Multan airports.
Once completed, it is expected to provide enhanced connectivity for business, logistics, and tourism sectors in upper Sindh, a region experiencing steady economic growth.
