The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), in collaboration with other security institutions, arrested two suspects allegedly connected with India’s intelligence agency RAW during an intelligence-based operation in Karachi.

According to an official spokesperson of the NCCIA, the operation was conducted on October 9, 2025, as part of a broader investigation into foreign-linked cyber and espionage activities in Pakistan.

Initial findings revealed that the arrested individuals were transmitting confidential information regarding domestic installations and sensitive infrastructure through social media and mobile communication applications to unidentified foreign handlers.

The spokesperson confirmed that multiple mobile phones were recovered from the suspects, containing classified data, security-related documents, and evidence of unauthorized activities linked to national security concerns.

Authorities also found records of financial transactions, indicating that the suspects were receiving funds from foreign sources, raising suspicion of monetary involvement in espionage operations against Pakistan.

The NCCIA stated that the forensic examination of the seized digital equipment is ongoing, with specialized teams analyzing communications, data trails, and transaction logs to uncover the full extent of the network.

Officials stressed that the investigation is focused on identifying other potential collaborators who may have assisted the suspects in gathering or transmitting sensitive national security information abroad.

The arrested individuals are currently in custody, and formal cases have been registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for their alleged involvement in espionage and digital misconduct.
