The Afghanistan national football team arrived in Islamabad from Dubai, ahead of their AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifier against Pakistan tomorrow.

The much-anticipated match between Pakistan and Afghanistan is scheduled for Thursday, October 9, at 2:00 pm at Jinnah Stadium inside the Pakistan Sports Complex, and will be broadcast live on ASports.

The team’s travel was delayed earlier this week due to visa processing issues, sparking concerns about a possible disruption to the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifier fixture in Islamabad.

However, quick coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) resolved the matter, ensuring the Afghan team’s smooth entry and travel arrangements.

Authorities have finalized all security, logistical, and broadcasting arrangements to ensure a smooth event that highlights Pakistan’s readiness to host regional and global football contests.
