Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has directed the construction of alternative routes for Natha Khan Bridge to ease public inconvenience caused by ongoing repair work and infrastructure issues.
The mayor took notice after frequent maintenance of the bridge due to the deteriorating structure and repeated incidents of steel theft that have weakened its foundation over time.
The Natha Khan Bridge has undergone multiple repair cycles in recent months, disrupting traffic and creating major difficulties for commuters traveling between key areas of the city.
Mayor Wahab instructed the concerned department to prepare a comprehensive plan for developing alternate routes to ensure a smoother traffic flow and reduce public distress.
Following his directions, the engineering team has initiated a detailed survey of the surrounding areas to identify feasible routes that can temporarily accommodate vehicular movement.
Authorities hope to begin practical work on these alternate routes as soon as the survey and design approval process is completed by the relevant municipal bodies.
