After several years of suspension, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume its flight operations to the United Kingdom (UK) this month.

The confirmation of the PIA flight to the UK was made by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, on her social media account X (formerly twitter).

The British High Commissioner posted a picture with PIA’s cabin crew announcing that PIA will relaunch its UK route with the first flight departing from Islamabad to Manchester on October 25.

The move follows extensive coordination between Pakistani and British aviation authorities, paving the way for the national carrier’s return to one of its most vital international markets.

She added that the resumption of direct flights would help bring people from both nations closer, enhancing bilateral engagement in multiple social and economic spheres.

PIA officials stated that the restoration of UK operations is expected to play a major role in boosting trade, tourism, and travel ties between Pakistan and Britain.

The national carrier had suspended flights to the UK following regulatory restrictions, but has since taken corrective measures to meet international aviation standards.
