Poor umpiring decisions during the India vs Pakistan Super Four match in the Asia Cup 2025 have sparked outrage among fans on social media, with many believing the calls favored India.
One of the most controversial moments was a third-umpire decision to dismiss Fakhar Zaman.
This decision, which many cricketers, fans, and commentators felt was incorrect, has fueled debates over biased and poor umpiring during the super four match of Asia Cup 2025.
The on-field umpires were Ahmad Shah Pakteen from Afghanistan and Gazi Sohel from Bangladesh. They were assisted by the DRS system.
Ruchira Palliyaguruge from Sri Lanka served as the TV umpire, and Izatullah Safi from Afghanistan was the reserve umpire. Andy Pycroft from Zimbabwe was the match referee.
Interestingly, Ruchira Palliyaguruge was also the controversial umpire during the September 14 clash between Pakistan and India, where he made four incorrect decisions that were later overturned by Pakistan’s reviews.

Fans took to social media to voice their frustration over several decisions, including an overlooked no-ball, a wide ball that should have been called, and the controversial dismissal of Fakhar Zaman.

One fan commented that Fakhar was playing well and the poor umpiring changed the outcome of the match.
Another fan felt that Fakhar’s dismissal seemed wrong, claiming the ball bounced before hitting his gloves.
Many also voiced their concerns over Pakistan’s batters facing unfair decisions, with one fan joking that the team was facing “13 men on the field.”

Some fans called for accountability, urging the ICC to investigate the poor umpiring, while others humorously remarked that India needed umpire assistance to win, despite Pakistan’s perceived weakness.

The controversy over the umpiring continues to stir emotions, with many fans hoping for improved decision-making in future matches.
