The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a short-term weather advisory, forecasting thunderstorms and heavy rain in Karachi during the next one to three hours.

The met officials stated that the strong rain system is currently active across Sindh and moving towards southern belt of the region, while expected to intensify rainfall activity in multiple districts of the province including Karachi.

The PMD warned that the heavy rains in Karachi might lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of the city, meanwhile, strong winds accompanying rain showers could also increase risks for commuters and residents.
