The U.S. Strategic Metals (USSM) delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pakistan’s Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at Prime Minister House.

The signing ceremony was attended by Embassy Islamabad Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Zach Harkenrider and senior officials. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker described the agreement as “another example of the strength of the U.S.-Pakistan bilateral relationship that will benefit both countries.”

USSM, based in Missouri, specializes in producing and recycling critical minerals defined by the U.S. Department of Energy as essential for advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and defense technologies.

CDA Baker emphasized the importance of such partnerships, noting that critical mineral resources are vital to American security and prosperity. She added that the U.S. administration prioritizes these deals to strengthen economic and technological cooperation with Pakistan.
