The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning of severe flooding in Sindh, while the weather is expected to remain consistent in Karachi.
As per the details, PMD stated that the Indus River at Guddu Barrage is expected to hit “very high flood” levels on September 6 and 7.
Authorities confirmed that hot and humid weather will persist across most of Sindh. Karachi residents should expect clear skies with maximum temperatures between 33–35°C, coupled with extremely high humidity levels in the morning hours.
Meteorologists say the weather in Karachi will remain consistent over the weekend, bringing little to no relief from the ongoing heatwave. Citizens have been advised to take precautions against dehydration.
Although the provincial capital is expected to stay dry, weak monsoon currents could cause thunderstorms and light rain in southeastern districts, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas, in the coming days.

At Guddu, Sukkur, and Kotri barrages, officials remain on high alert as the low-level flood persists. Water levels are forecast to rise, increasing the risk of displacement and property damage.
Relief teams have been placed on standby in flood-prone areas. Authorities are urging residents living near riverbanks to prepare for possible evacuation and follow safety instructions to minimize risks.
Sindh’s disaster management body emphasized that coordinated efforts between the administration and communities are essential to handle the dual threat of flooding and the continuing heatwave. Monitoring teams are closely tracking weather changes.
The provincial government has assured that necessary resources will be mobilized to assist vulnerable districts. Emergency measures include setting up medical camps and strengthening embankments to limit the damage from expected heavy flows.
