Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah warned of a possible super flood after the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported 800,000 to 1100,000 cusecs of water could soon flow into the province through the Indus River.

Speaking to the media, CM stated that water above 900,000 cusecs of water at Guddu and Sukkur barrages would trigger a super flood in Sindh. He directed the irrigation department to ensure full readiness ahead of the threat.

The Chief Minister cautioned that large-scale flooding would submerge the katcha areas. He assured that efforts are in place to protect lives and livestock, with 192 boats prepared for rapid evacuation operations.

Earlier, during a briefing at Guddu Barrage, Shah was informed that heavy machinery and manpower had been deployed along vulnerable protective embankments to strengthen weak points before the water reached dangerous levels.

Authorities identified six sensitive points along the right bank between Guddu and Sukkur, including Left Marginal Bund, KK Bund, KK Feeder Bund, New Ghorghat ex-Bund, Old Tori Bund, and SB Bund.

On the left bank of the Indus, critical points include Qadirpur Shank Bund, Qadir Loop Bund, Rownti Bund, Baiji Bund, and RN Bund, which require strict monitoring due to past breaches during major floods.

Shah emphasized that protecting the Shank Bund will be the top priority if water levels rise between eight and nine lakh cusecs. Emergency teams have been placed on high alert for immediate response.

The Chief Minister directed the irrigation department to boost surveillance and reinforcement of all embankments.

He stressed the importance of timely actions to prevent damage and minimize risks during this critical period.

Residents in vulnerable areas have been urged to cooperate fully with the local administration.

CM Sindh called for calm and assured that the provincial government is closely monitoring the situation to prevent widespread destruction.
