A domestic cricketer from Sindh has approached the Sindh High Court against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not being selected in the national squad for the T20 World Cup.
The 32-year-old right-handed batsman, Taimur Ali, from Usta Mohammad, Jacobabad, has played 77 first-class matches, scoring 3,473 runs, including four centuries and 18 half-centuries, with a career-best of 129 not out.
He has also contributed with the ball as a right-arm off-break bowler, taking nine wickets, and has proven his value in the field with 47 catches.
His lawyer argued that his performance surpasses many players included in the World Cup squad.
In his petition filed under Section 37, Taimur alleged discrimination and requested the PCB to review its decision, meanwhile, the board is yet to respond in the case.
The court questioned its jurisdiction in the case and asked the petitioner to provide Supreme Court rulings, including those in the Danish Kaneria case. The hearing has been adjourned for two days.
