Farhan Ghani, brother of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Sindh provincial minister Saeed Ghani, was arrested along with his accomplices on charges of assaulting a government employee, police confirmed.
Following the complaint by the government employee, the First Information Report (FIR) has been launched at Ferozabad Police Station, which includes serious charges such as attempted murder, issuing death threats, and assault under anti-terrorism provisions against Farhan, Qamaruddin, Shakeel Chandio, Sikandar, and Roohan.
The complainant, Hafiz Sohail, in the FIR stated that he was on duty and supervising the fiber optic cable work on the service road at Shahrae Faisal when 20 to 25 men arrived in three vehicles and inquired about the authority to dig the road.
As per the statement, Sohail introduced himself and informed them that the work is being carried out after the proper NOCs from the government department.
“The men in the vehicle started misbehaving and demanded to stop the work immediately, as I didn’t obey their command, they started verbally and physically assaulting me,” Sohail said.

“Despite repeatedly identifying myself, they continued the physical assault, questioning why the work wasn’t stopped on their boss’s orders,” he added.
He recognized the attackers as Farhan Ghani, Qamaruddin, Shakeel, Sikandar, and Roohan while stating that he could identify other individuals if presented in front of him.
“Four to five armed individuals aimed their weapons at me with the intent to kill and continued abusing and assaulting me,” the complaint added.
“One of them suggested calling the police emergency helpline (15) and handing me over. I was then forcibly dragged and locked in a room at a nearby petrol station, where they continued to beat me,” Sohail said.
According to the complaint, the attackers dragged the victim to a nearby petrol station, locked him in a room, and continued to beat him until police reached the scene and rescued him.
Police officials confirmed that Farhan Ghani and several named individuals have been arrested, while investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the remaining suspects linked to the incident.
