Pakistan’s Saleema Imtiaz will officiate in her first bilateral ODI series during the upcoming three-match women’s series between Pakistan and South Africa, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced.
The series, featuring three ODIs, will be held at Lahore’s historic Gaddafi Stadium from 16 to 22 September. It promises to be a significant milestone for women’s cricket officiating in Pakistan.
Saleema, a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will share duties with Australia’s Claire Polosak, who returns to Pakistan after officiating the Pakistan v West Indies series last year.
Polosak, also on the ICC International Panel, will stand in all three ODIs as an on-field umpire, bringing her international experience to the Lahore fixtures.
Humairah Farah has been appointed as the reserve umpire, while Tariq Rasheed from the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires will also serve as an on-field official during the series matches.
Former Test cricketer Ali Naqvi, a member of the PCB and ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the playing control team throughout the tournament in Lahore.
For the first ODI on 16 September, Claire Polosak and Saleema Imtiaz will serve as on-field umpires, with Tariq Rasheed as the third umpire and Humairah Farah as reserve umpire.
On 19 September, in the second ODI, Claire Polosak and Tariq Rasheed will stand on-field, while Saleema Imtiaz will take the role of third umpire for the game.
The final ODI on 22 September will again feature Claire Polosak and Saleema Imtiaz as on-field umpires, marking another milestone for Saleema in her umpiring career.
