UK humanitarian aid for Pakistan floods has been announced, with £1.33 million allocated to support recovery efforts during the 2025 monsoon season.

The assistance will benefit more than 223,000 people across seven flood-affected districts in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The aid covers emergency and early recovery measures. These include food rations, search and rescue operations, mobile medical camps, repair of drinking water systems, restoration of irrigation channels, and livelihood support for agriculture.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMG, OBE, said that UK-funded programmes are providing crucial help to communities impacted by floods and landslides.

She added that the UK is working with national and provincial authorities. This collaboration aims to improve disaster response and resilience.

As part of this effort, 2,400 community volunteers have been trained in search and rescue operations. In Buner, 25 trained volunteers from Charsadda have joined Rescue 1122’s teams. They are assisting where people remain missing or trapped under debris.

Mobile medical camps are being established in areas with damaged health clinics, ensuring continued access to healthcare. Alongside this, non-food items, food rations, shelter materials, and dignity kits for women are being distributed to displaced families.

In addition, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) is coordinating aid delivery. District Coordinators in Swat and Buner are helping to ensure that humanitarian support reaches affected people efficiently and effectively.
