Karachi Weather Updates: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of more rain across the city and other parts of the country starting from August 23.
According to the PMD, monsoon currents will intensify in upper regions from August 22. They will enter from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Officials cautioned that the rains may cause landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying regions.
Between August 23 and 27, rain is expected in Islamabad and several Punjab cities. These include Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, and Sargodha. Additionally, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan may also receive heavy showers.
From August 23 to 25, rain is likely in Bhakkar, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) may see heavy rainfall and hailstorms between August 23 and 26. This will affect Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
In Balochistan and Sindh, Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, and Kech are expected to receive rainfall.
Meanwhile, Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Jacobabad, and Jamshoro are likely to experience rain between August 23 and 25.
The Met Office further warned of flash flooding in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel during the rain spell.
