The United States has stopped issuing work visas for foreign truck drivers, according to an announcement from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio, in his latest statement, confirmed that the US government has immediately suspended worker visas for commercial truck drivers.
Earlier this week, the US State Department also decided to suspend short-term tourist visas for Palestinians arriving from Gaza.
The department stated that visas recently issued for Gaza on medical and humanitarian grounds are now under comprehensive review. Officials explained that the issuance of a limited number of visas for Gaza has been paused to allow further scrutiny.

On the other hand, the US has also introduced stricter rules recently for individuals seeking US citizenship, especially through family-based immigration.
According to international media reports, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued new guidelines to tighten the review process for family-sponsored immigrant visa applications, particularly those based on marriage.
If a US citizen wants to sponsor a foreign spouse, the couple must now provide strong evidence to prove the authenticity of their relationship.
Applicants must submit documents such as joint financial records, photos, and written communication with family or friends as proof.
These measures aim to prevent fraud and ensure that only genuine couples are approved for green cards.
The new policy took effect on August 1 and applies to both pending and newly filed applications, media reports added.
