Despite higher education abroad, Pakistani women in the United Kingdom (UK) are facing serious challenges in finding high paying jobs.
A recent report by the Greater London Authority revealed that nearly half of Pakistani and Bangladeshi women living in London were economically inactive in 2022.
The report highlighted that even with higher qualifications, these women struggled more than other ethnic groups in the job market.
The unemployment rate for women in London stood at 16.9 percent. Experts believe that structural barriers, lack of opportunities, and workplace discrimination contribute to these difficulties.
The findings underscore the urgent need for targeted employment policies and support programs. These are crucial to help Pakistani women overcome economic exclusion in the UK.
