Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again launched the Free Laptop Scheme for Students across Pakistan. The program offers 100,000 laptops to high-achieving and deserving students nationwide.
Speaking in Islamabad on International Youth Day, he said the initiative rewards academic excellence and empowers young people with technology and education.
During his speech, PM Shehbaz also referenced Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. He recalled Pakistan’s victory on May 10 against a numerically stronger and “arrogant” opponent.
According to him, this success boosted national pride and unity. He urged the youth to channel this energy, excel in their careers, and bring global recognition to Pakistan.
Reaffirming his government’s dedication, the Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan’s future rests on the education and skills of its young generation.
He also extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings and praised minorities and all communities for their role in the nation’s progress.
Rana Mashhood Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Programme, also addressed the event. He reminded the audience that the first youth policy was introduced in 2011. This occurred when Shehbaz Sharif served as Punjab’s Chief Minister.
That policy included laptops, scholarships, and soft loans for talented students. He noted that the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) has now evolved into the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund. It extends benefits to students nationwide.
