The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has finalized special arrangements to ensure smooth water supply and sewerage services for Chehlum processions across the city.
A KWSC spokesperson said the corporation coordinated closely with district administration, public representatives, religious leaders, and relevant agencies to address leakage repairs, sewerage issues, road cleaning, and manhole maintenance along procession routes.
Continuous water supply has been ensured for mosques, imambargahs, sabeels, and mourning assembly venues, while free water tankers are being provided to sabeels set up by the Jafaria Alliance and other organizations.
The arrangements are being personally supervised by Shehbaz Bashir, focal person to the CEO for the Hydrants Cell, to guarantee timely delivery of tankers.
KWSC CEO Ahmed Ali Siddiqui said providing the best facilities to citizens during religious occasions remains the corporation’s top priority, adding that efforts to improve the city’s water and sewerage system are ongoing.
