Across the country, Independence Day was marked with traditional zeal. The day began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. Special prayers were held in mosques for peace, national unity, and progress.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony took place at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised the national flag. Leaders renewed their pledge to uphold the spirit of the Pakistan Movement and strive to build a true Islamic welfare state.
Public buildings, streets, and homes were decorated with green and white flags, while patriotic songs echoed across cities. Cultural and community events drew large gatherings, reflecting unity and pride in the nation’s journey since independence in 1947.
