The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started the rehabilitation of the Umar Sharif Underpass, as part of an ongoing city-wide infrastructure improvement drive led by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
Following successful renovations of bridges, internal streets, and link roads, the city administration has now turned its focus to modernizing underpasses and flyovers.
The Umar Sharif Underpass project aims to enhance traffic flow, improve safety, and provide a smoother commute for citizens.
According to KMC, the work is being carried out on an urgent basis, and the underpass will be reopened to the public soon.
Mayor Wahab said the initiative reflects the city’s broader plan to upgrade Karachi’s transport infrastructure and ensure sustainable urban development.
