The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has announced temporary airspace restrictions for PAF Independence Day rehearsals ahead of the August 14 celebrations.

Operations at Islamabad International Airport will be suspended for two hours daily during practice flights.

According to the notice issued to all airlines, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets will conduct rehearsal flights from 11am to 1pm until Independence Day.

During this period, landing and take-off of passenger aircraft at Islamabad airport will remain suspended to ensure safe airspace for the warplanes’ maneuvers.

The authority has instructed captains of all airlines to strictly follow the guidelines and adjust schedules accordingly to avoid operational disruptions during the rehearsal period.

Officials said the temporary suspension aims to ensure flight safety and provide PAF jets adequate time for precision practice ahead of the national celebrations.

The rehearsals will feature air maneuvers and flypasts expected to be showcased during the official August 14 event, marking Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day.

The Pakistan Air Force has traditionally conducted such practice sessions before major national events, with security and operational coordination handled jointly by civil aviation and military authorities.
