The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) announced a new date to roll out its new direct bank payment system.
Starting from August 13, this system is named “Sehat Accounts” and will be in a pilot phase across seven major districts.
Key highlights:
Under this initiative, beneficiaries will be allowed to open bank accounts of their choice to receive payments directly.
The goal is to replace the traditional cash transfer model with a more flexible, secure, and dignified payment system.
Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid stated that BISP-eligible women will have personal bank accounts. This ensures transparent, efficient, and respectful financial aid disbursement.
The pilot phase of the Benazir Income Support Program’s new payment system will be launched in six major cities across Pakistan.
These cities include Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Peshawar. They have been selected to initiate the direct bank account payment system.
The aim is to provide easier, safer, and more dignified access to financial assistance for eligible women beneficiaries.
From August 14, 2025, payments will be transferred directly into women’s personal accounts. This allows them autonomous and secure access to their funds without third-party involvement.
