The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president, Tariq Bugti, recently announced that national players have begun receiving their long-overdue payments in phases.
This development comes after significant delays in disbursing funds owed to the players, which has been a source of frustration within the team.
During a media interaction, Bugti explained that the initial phase of payments involves the distribution of local daily allowances to the national hockey players.
He stated, “Money has started flowing into players’ accounts. Local dailies are being given in the first phase.” This acknowledgment of the players’ financial struggles indicates a step towards addressing the ongoing issues related to their compensation.

Pakistan hockey team, which recently secured a silver medal at the Nations Hockey Cup in Malaysia, has yet to receive their daily allowances.
Reports indicate that each player is owed approximately PKR 500,000 in unpaid daily allowances, which has contributed to growing discontent among the athletes.
Furthermore, the players have also not received allowances for the training camps held in two phases in Islamabad.
Reports noted that players are entitled to PKR 30,000 per day for international duties and PKR 3,000 per day for domestic activities.
