The immigration counters for foreign travelers in Pakistan will soon be available at all international airports, following orders from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to improve travel ease and boost tourism.

The PM Office Media Wing confirmed that the new counters will offer faster immigration clearance for foreign visitors, business travelers, and returning Pakistanis.

This move aims to reduce long waiting times at airports and enhance the country’s image as a welcoming destination for global tourists and investors.

“These immigration desks will play a key role in promoting tourism and easing business travel procedures,” the government said in an official statement.

The government hopes the initiative will also make international delegations feel more respected and valued upon entering Pakistan for conferences and official visits.

Officials believe improved airport services are essential for economic growth, especially when attracting foreign direct investment and promoting cultural exchanges.

The counters will be staffed with trained immigration officers to ensure professionalism and quick processing of travel documents at each international terminal.

Authorities are also planning to upgrade other airport services as part of the broader travel reform project announced by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Tourism experts welcomed the decision, saying it aligns with international standards and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to a more open and investor-friendly environment.

Once implemented, these counters are expected to operate 24/7 to accommodate the increasing flow of international travelers in and out of the country.
