The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly denied circulating social media rumours about an alleged incident involving Shaheen Afridi, team captain Agha Salman, and a coaching staff member, calling the claims baseless, fabricated, and defamatory.
In a strong statement issued on Wednesday, the PCB clarified that no such incident took place during any training or practice session. It described the online narrative as a malicious attempt to create division and disrupt the morale of the national squad.
“This is a calculated and reprehensible campaign to defame our players and damage the integrity of the team,” the Board said, stressing the importance of unity and professionalism within the camp.

The PCB has announced it will pursue strict legal action, including defamation and cybercrime charges, against those responsible for initiating and spreading the false story. The Board vowed to hold accountable any individual or group found involved.
It also urged the public, media outlets, and digital platforms to avoid engaging with or spreading unverified information, warning that misinformation can harm both individuals and the collective spirit of the national side.
The PCB reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its players and staff from malicious content and emphasized that speculation and gossip will not be tolerated.
