The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has made entry fees mandatory for tourists visiting top spots like Naran, Kaghan, and Lake Saif-ul-Malook.
As per official documents, tourists must now pay a fee to access these locations. No one will be allowed entry without payment.
The government has introduced a formal entry fee system in Kaghan Valley to manage tourism more effectively.
Tourist destinations in KP
Kaghan Valley
Kaghan Valley is located in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The valley is extends around 154 kilometres across the northern Pakistan, rising from its lowest elevation of 650 m to its highest point at the Babusar Pass around 4,170 m.
Naran, Shogran
Naran and Shogran are two popular tourist destinations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan, especially favored for their stunning natural beauty, cool climate, and accessibility during the summer months.
Chitral Valley
Chitral Valley, located in the northwestern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, is a stunning and culturally rich destination nestled beneath the majestic Hindu Kush mountains.
Known for its dramatic landscapes, lush green valleys, and snow-capped peaks, the valley is home to the unique and ancient Kalash people, who reside in the nearby Kalash Valleys of Bumburet, Rumbur, and Birir. Chitral also features the mighty Tirich Mir, the highest peak of the Hindu Kush range.

Kumrat Valley & Kalam Valley
Kumrat Valley and Kalam Valley are two of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, known for their lush green landscapes, rivers, forests, and cool mountain air.
Kumrat Valley is located in the Upper Dir District and is famous for its dense deodar forests, the Panjkora River, and scenic spots like Jahaz Banda and Katora Lake, offering an off-the-beaten-path experience with limited infrastructure but raw natural charm.
Kalam Valley, on the other hand, lies in Swat District and is more developed, attracting tourists with its alpine scenery, Swat River, and access to places like Mahodand Lake, Ushu Forest, and Matiltan Glacier.
Both valleys are best visited from May to September and are ideal for camping, hiking, and escaping the summer heat, though Kalam is more accessible and tourist-friendly compared to the relatively remote and rugged terrain of Kumrat.
A fee collection point will be set up at Hussamabad. Charges will apply as follows:
- PKR 200 per person for large vehicles
- PKR 100 per person for small vehicles
- PKR 20 per person for motorcycles
Local residents will be exempted from these charges.
