India has reportedly launched a fresh military campaign named Operation Mahadev, after the failure of Operation Sindoor, to cover its tracks and shift public attention, security sources said.

This operation involves using illegally detained Pakistanis in fake encounters, aiming to label them as cross-border terrorists and project a false image of success, sources added.

The fake encounters in Kashmir have again drawn global concern over India’s approach to handling resistance in the region, especially following the controversial Pahalgam incident.

Security officials claim Operation Mahadev is designed not only to suppress the growing freedom movement in occupied Kashmir but also to restore India’s internal political credibility.

The Indian military reportedly began a series of fake encounters just days after the Pahalgam false flag operation, which has raised fresh alarms internationally, sources stated.

On April 24, two citizens from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Din, were killed near the border after mistakenly crossing into Indian territory, security sources reported.

Sources allege that under the new plan, Indian forces may kill Pakistani prisoners in custody and falsely claim they were infiltrators or militants attempting cross-border attacks.

DG ISPR had already revealed details of 723 Pakistanis illegally held in Indian jails on April 29 and 30, adding that 56 others remain forcibly detained by Indian intelligence.

Fake encounter scenes are reportedly staged with planted weapons and choreographed videos, later circulated to Indian media to shape public opinion and target Pakistan, the report said.

According to intelligence inputs, some of these detainees might be forced to make false anti-Pakistan confessions, intended to mislead viewers and promote hatred through manipulated broadcasts.

The Indian Army has long been accused of fake encounters in occupied Kashmir, and Operation Mahadev appears to be another tactic to silence dissent and distort facts, sources claimed.

With its failures piling up, including Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam incident, India is said to be in a state of panic, escalating propaganda efforts to regain control.
