Oman’s Ministry of Labour has issued a final notice to all foreign nationals, including Pakistanis, urging them to renew their visas or leave the country before July 31, 2025.

Those who fail to comply will face significant penalties after the deadline.

Officials emphasized that no applications will be accepted after July 31. Expats must submit all renewal or exit requests through the official government digital platforms or authorized service centers.

This directive follows a broad amnesty program launched in January 2025. According to the media reports, The Omani cabinet approved a 60 million Omani Rial (approx. $156 million) relief package to support labor market reforms and protect both workers and employers.

Key Benefits of the Amnesty Program:

  • Full waiver of fines on labor cards inactive for over seven years
  • Exemption from return travel costs for workers who left Oman before 2018
  • Automatic cancellation of unused labor cards older than 10 years, if no pending service requests exist

What Expats Can Do Before the Deadline:

  • Renew expired labor cards by paying a two-year fee
  • Cancel absconding reports filed by previous employers
  • Transfer sponsorship or finalize return travel arrangements
