The Government of Sindh has announced plans to celebrate Independence Day and “Marka-e-Haq” in a grand, passionate, and historically significant manner this year, with a strong focus on public engagement, patriotism, and cultural pride.
A high-level meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reviewed the province-wide preparations.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, Zulfiqar Shah, Special Assistant Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Engineer Qasim Soomro, Arts Council President Ahmed Shah, Information Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, and other senior officials.
Government buildings, roads, markets, public transport, and other key areas will be decorated with national flags, lights, and banners. A media campaign will also be launched to encourage public involvement.
Sharjeel Memon said the celebrations will reflect the Sindh government’s vision of democracy, unity, and human rights. “This August 14 is not just a celebration, but a message of patriotism, sacrifice, and truth,” he stated. He announced special events for children, minorities, the elderly, and women, with district-level ceremonies planned across the province.
Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said activities will include tree planting, blood donation drives, sanitation campaigns, and other social service actions. Saeed Ghani added that municipalities will be instructed to organize events at Ward, UC, and Town levels, including rallies, national songs, and youth sports competitions.
Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah announced Qawwali nights, poetry events, theater performances, and cultural shows in collaboration with schools, colleges, and the Arts Council to promote Sindhi heritage.
