TikTok has released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for Q1 2025, highlighting steps taken to remove harmful content and maintain a safe online environment.
In Pakistan, TikTok removed 24,954,128 videos during the quarter, covers data from January to March 2025. The platform maintained a high proactive removal rate of 99.4 percent, with 95.8 percent of those videos removed within 24 hours of being posted.
On a global scale, TikTok deleted 211 million videos, which is around 0.9 percent of all uploaded content. Most of the videos – 184.3 million – were identified and removed using automated detection technologies. However, 7.5 million videos were later restored following review.
The report sheds light on why content was taken down. About 30.1 percent of the removed videos included mature or sensitive themes. Another 11.5 percent violated safety rules, 15.6 percent breached privacy guidelines, and a large portion – 45.5 percent – spread misinformation.
Meanwhile, 13.8 percent were flagged for being AI-generated or misleadingly edited.
TikTok emphasized that the regular release of these reports reflects its commitment to transparency and helps users better understand the scale and nature of content enforcement.
The company encouraged users to learn more about its guidelines, tools, and enforcement actions through the TikTok Transparency Centre, which is accessible in Urdu and English.
The report is part of TikTok’s continued efforts to foster a safe and respectful community worldwide, including in markets like Pakistan where the platform enjoys a massive user base.
